Rex Allen Days is celebrating it's 60th year and this is a list of all that's going on throughout the four day event chock full of good old fashioned western fun.

Thursday - September 28, 2011

  • 1:00 PM - Rex Allen Jr., Rodeo Queen and Contestants
    Location: Willcox Elementary School

  • 2:30 PM - Rex Allen Jr., Rodeo Queen and Contestants
    Location:
    NCCH Nursing Home

  • 6:00 PM - Cowboy Hall of Fame Reception and Dinner**
    Location: Willcox Community Center

Friday - September 30, 2011

  • 8:00 AM - Rex Allen Days Queen Contest Riding
    Location: Rodeo Grounds
    Riding contest for title of Rex Allen Days Rodeo Queen.

  • 9:00 AM - Rex Allen Days Golf Tournament**
    Location: Twin Lakes Golf Club
    Golf Tournament sponsored by the Southeastern Arizona Shriners

  • 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM - Queens Luncheon
    Location: Holiday Inn
    Luncheon with modeling, speeches and interviews.

  • NOON - Carnival Opens
    Location: Windmill Park on Railroad Avenue
    Food, Shopping and Entertainment.

  • NOON - 6:00 PM - Multiple Events**
    Location: Windmill Park
    Music and Cowboy Poetry Entertainers, gunfights, Rex Allen Movies and Vendors.

  • 2:00 PM - Antique Tractor Pulling Extravaganza**
    Location: Cross the railroad tracks on Maley, turn right on 2nd.

  • 4:00 PM - Country Fair Opens
    Location: Keiller Park
    Carnival, food, shopping and entertainment.

  • 5:00 - 6:00 PM - Rex Allen Jr. Celebrity Panel**
    Location: Windmill Park on Railroad Avenue
    Question and Answer discussion by the celebrities

  • 6:30 PM - Modified Tractors - Mini Rods - Pickup Pulling Extravaganza**
    Location: Cross the tracks on Maley and turn right on 2nd.  Follow signs
    Old fashioned fun with modified tractor pull and mini rods and then you can root for your favorite pick-up!

  • 7:00 PM - Rex Allen Museum Western Legends Awards/Wine and Cheese Reception
    Location: Willcox Community Center
    Free to Rex Allen Museum Members.  Memberships are available at the door.

Saturday - October 1, 2011

  • 7:00 AM - Parade Line Up
    Location: Willcox Community Center
    Parade line-up begins at Willcox Community Center on the corner of Austin and Stewart.

  • 8:00 AM - Rex Allen Days AYSO Benefit Car Show Registration
    Location: Keiller Park
    Registration or car show

  • 8:00 AM - Rodeo Slack
    Location: Rodeo Arena
    NO CHARGE event at the rodeo arena

  • 9:00 AM - Softball Tournaments Begin
    Location: Keiller and Quail Parks
    Girl's-fast pitch @ Keiller Park and Men's-slow pitch @ Quail Park.

  • 10:00 AM - Rex Allen Days Parade
    Location: Willcox
    Parade begins at Willcox Community Center on the corner of Austin and Stewart.  Theme "60 Years and Still Making History".

  • 10:00 AM - Keiller Park Country Fair and Carnival Opens
    Location: Keiller Park

  • 11:30 AM - Danza Mexica Cauahtemoc - Aztec Dancers
    Location: In front of Rex Allen Museum at conclusion of parade.   See them at Keiller Park at 2PM

  • 11:30 AM - 6:00 PM - Western Music and Cowboy Poetry Entertainment
    Location: Windmill Park

  • Noon - 7:00 PM -Entertainment
    Location: Keiller Park Stage

  • Noon - 29th Annual Orlando B. Willcox Turtle Race
    Location: Kieller Park Basketball Courts
    Fun 3 meter race for kids and turtles of all ages.  Cash prizes will be awarded.  Please be considerate of your turtle-racer and return to location where you found them (if it was captured in the wild) so they can carry on their turtle lives.

  • Noon - Concession Open**
    Location: Quail Park Rodeo Arena
    Sponsored by the FFA.

  • NOON - Kids Pre-Rodeo Sign-In 
    Contestants must pre-register by calling Jodi Brock-Olivares at (520) 253-0208. 
    Costs:
    $15.00 for Dummy Roping and Stick Horse (5yrs and under)
    $20.00 for Mutton Bustin' (6yrs and under)
    $30.00 for Calf Riding (7yrs - 9 yrs)
    $40.00 for Steer Riding (10yrs - 12yrs)

  • 12:30 PM - Pre-Rodeo Activities
    Location: Quail Park Rodeo Arena
    Activities include Mutton Bustin', Stick Horse Race and Dummy Roping.

  • 2:00 PM - Danza Mexica Cauahtemoc - Aztec Dancers
    Location: Keiller Park

  • 2:00 PM - Antique Tractors Pull**

  • 2:00 PM - Rex Allen Days Rodeo Performance
    Location: Quail Drive Rodeo Arena - Ft. Grant Road
    Starts with a Wild Horse Race.  Buy tickets in advance to save money and avoid waiting in line.  Call 1-800-200-2272.

  • 8:00 AM - Cowboy Church & Western Music**
    Location: Windmill Park on Railroad Avenue
    Enjoy a truly inspirational morning with old time western gospel.

  • 8:00 AM - Men's Softball Tournament**
    Location: Quail Park
    Men's softball begins Sunday play.

  • 8:00 AM - Rodeo Slack - Team Roping Only
    No charge to watch the slack event - Open to the public.

  • 9:00 AM - Breakfast with the Stars**
    Location: Quality Inn - 1100 Rex Allen Drive

  • 10:00 AM - Keiller Park Country Fair
    Location: Keiller Park
    Country fair opens for shopping and breakfast.

  • Noon - Carnival Opens
    Location: Keiller Park

  • NOON - Rhythm of the Heart Band
    Location: Keiller Park
    Rhythm of the Heart Band performs contemporary gospel music.

  • NOON - Kids Pre-Rodeo Sign-In
